Experts predicting that electric cars will be cheaper than gas-powered cars by 2030

In the near-term, increasing competition and lowering production costs are making electric vehicles (EV) more affordable for consumers. Electric batteries, which make up roughly 40% of the cost of an EV, are becoming a major focal point for automobile manufactures as they establish battery plants around the world to satisfy the growing demand. If investments in EV production continue, many experts predict that EVs could become mainstream by the early 2020s and will be significantly cheaper than gas-powered cars by 2030.
