As the transportation sector presently accounts for 27 percent of emissions in the United States and 54 percent of the emissions in California, market forecasters anticipate that EV's will become cheaper than conventional cars without government subsidies between 2025 and 2030. Combined with the surge in renewable energy sources, like solar and wind, electric cars could lead to big emission reductions over the next decade.
